FERRIMAROC pioneered this route, commencing in November 1994, and has been offering a regular scheduled service ever since. The SCIROCCO was the first ferry to be operated on the route, and was joined by the much larger MISTAL in June 1997. Since those early days, every day more and more passengers entrust us with their maritime travel to Morocco. As a result, this route has expanded as customers discover the advantages over the more traditional routes in the Straight of Gibraltar; more than 680,000 passengers and 160,000 cars travelled between ALMERIA and NADOR during 2001. This has led to improved communication links between the Iberian Peninsula and the North-east Morocco area, as well as promoting the ports of Almería and Nador.
